Summer has just flown by!
It has been great, though, as you can see by the pictures. When Alicia finished summer school & her ASL immersion class, she, Jason, Dad, and I were able to get together for dinner and frozen yogurt. Yum, yum.
Dad, Jane, and I also had the opportunity to have a delicious lunch with Dick Simpson (Dad's cousin) and wife, Georgia, at their beautiful home in Arroyo Grande.
My wonderful friends the Jepsons came down to visit last week. We participated in many fun activities in the area including going to see a melodrama, surfing, kayaking, hiking, going to Solvang, roasting marshmellows in my fire pit (inherited from friend's) and eating tons of good food. Jason and Alicia joined us for some of the activities, as you can see.
Friday I go back to work.

Wow! Looks like you've had some fun outings and get-togethers! How neat! I'm jealous of the hiking and kayaking- that sounds like a blast! Neat pictures too!
Good luck starting back at work this Friday! At the beginning of August, I started going from 2 days of work a week to 3 nights a week (3:30p-midnight), so that's been kinda a transition for us. So I agree that it's sad to see summer flying by! I think we both enjoy our jobs, however, vacation is just so much more fun!
Yesterday was my last day of summer. I start classes today and my new job next week. I loved this summer...it was great to have time off to spend with family. It's fun to see your family's end of summer activities! Thanks for the post!
Testing
You are doing an excellent job Barbara of selecting & editing photos to post on your blog. They look good on the screen after I double click them.
Also, I find they are easy to download onto my computer. You have them labeled with date, names, and place. The size is right, about 100 kB. I just choose "page", "save as", and the folder I want. For example, "My Pictures\2008".
