For all of you who enjoy reading heart-warming novels, you may want to pick up "The Secret Life of Bees." It takes place in a small town in South Carolina in the 1960's. It involves delightful characters who deal with some interesting situations.
I have the opportunity in my job to teach students how to improve their reading skills. I know it sounds strange, but at first I was surprised to hear that some students did not like to read. I am definitely not a literary genius, but I do love to read. How sad it would be if reading was so difficult that it was not enjoyable! I am grateful to parents who read to me, took me to the library often and set an example of the importance of reading.
