Home Repairs

Owning a home is definitely a privilege but it also takes much work.

Every summer I have the opportunity to learn new skills about home repairs as I attempt to keep my house in working order. Fortunately I have a neighbor who not only is very helpful but also has many of the necessary tools to do repairs.

I always try to get out my repair manual and attempt the projects on my own but sometimes I do not succeed. Step 1 for replacing a kitchen faucet is to turn the water off to the faucet; I was not even able to successfully do this! But thanks to Jose and after several hours of sweaty labor, I now I have a new kitchen faucet. I am so excited about it!!!

This week I also replaced the spout in my shower because the diverter did not work well and hadn't since I moved in here 7 years ago. It was so easy. I couldn't believe it. Cutting and replacing the florescent light covers in the ceilings were not quite so easy but it is done and I know how to do it now. :)
