Celebrating Dad's 84th Birthday

Many family members gathered at my house last month to celebrate Dad's 84th birthday. There was Dick and Georgia Simpson, Alicia and Stephen Bonfoey, Joan and Dean Woerner and Jason. After the usual birthday dinner which many helped to prepare and deep dish apple pie for birthday cake, we sang songs accompanied by several ukeleles.

Thanks to Dick, we even sang songs that Dick and Dad used to sing with their families back when they were growing up. At that time, (the 30's), the cabin was one of the only buildings in Pierpont so they would walk around the streets singing together. Two of the songs  they would sing were "Side by Side" and "Pretty Bubbles." In case you aren't familiar with the song we are singing in the video, it is 'Side by Side." This is Alicia and Stephen's first time ever to play the ukelele; Dick brought extras and gave them a quick lesson before we all played. It was definitely tons of fun!!!!
