Dad feels like it was quite an accomplishment to live until his 80th birthday!
His birthday dinner was great although I missed the east coast and Texas family who were not there. We enjoyed Santa Maria barbecue (yum!) with all the fixings and homemade pies (instead of birthday cake) made by a good friend of his. Then Dad's children gave PowerPoint presentations; Joan about Dad's genealogy, mine was entitled "Tribute to Dad," and Ron's was about his career and qualities he admires. Next, at Dad's request, Dick Simpson led us in singing some of Roger & Hammerstein's songs with a karaoke machine.
Thank you to everyone who came and helped in celebrating Dad!
