I first learned about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1971 from my good friend Jan Tueller in Caracas, Venezuela. The picture of her is from our high school graduation in 1972.
At the same time my brother, Ron, was learning about the LDS church from Jan's brother, Matt. This is a picture of Jan and Matt's family. Matt is sitting next to his Mom.

This is a picture of Ron and I when I graduated from high school. Not long after that, when Ron was 16 years old, he joined the LDS Church.

Ron is such a great brother and I have looked up to him most of my life. This is a picture of Ron and I when he came down to visit me at the University of Texas at Austin while he was attending Brigham Young University. I was on a very different path than he was but he was never judgmental or condescending.

This picture is of Ron, Jason and I in front of my house in Bakersfield, California. Ron is just back from serving a two year mission in Colombia. I was divorced and looking for something that could help me give my son and I a better life.

On February 6, 1982, Ron baptized me a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That was exactly 30 years ago!!! I am so grateful for the rich blessings I have received since then. They have made such a difference in my life. I appreciate the support, love and guidance I receive from my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. My relationship with them is the most important part of my life.
