Remembering May 15, 1998

Alicia and I cannot believe that it has already been ten years since our dramatic exodus from Indonesia. It was definitely a memorable event. Recently I searched the Internet to learn what was reported in the news here in the US. I had never done that before; probably b/c it was too painful to think about. Reading the reports made me realize that the challenges I faced were minor compared to many others. So sad to think of places where peoples' basic human rights are not protected. We are very fortunate here in America!
